Twitter<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0‘<\/span>power’<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0B<\/span>logs<\/span>: Why start B<\/span>logging<\/span>…?<\/span><\/strong> (<\/span>www.oxforddictionaries.com<\/a>)<\/span> Chile 2013<\/strong><\/p>\n Fast forward to Chile 2013…where you have moved away from your ‘comfort zone’ in\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0UK for 33 years…to challenge yourself in a new environment…a new job…a new language…a new culture…a new country…with many unknowns…with all your family and friends back home…<\/span> With\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0freedom\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Twitter<\/span>\u00a0these questions are very easy to answer:\u00a0<\/span>Twitter<\/span>\u00a0is an excellent information sharing engine by allowing you to follow people…people to follow you…post Tweets, make Retweets and tag Favourites…share Blog postings…share points\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0view…and share thoughts and opinions…<\/span> Connections<\/strong><\/p>\n Through this process I now have connections all around\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0world where I have never met them in person…just through\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>power<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Twitter<\/span>\u00a0movement…like minded people that share similar passions…being a part\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0‘<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>Twitter<\/span>\u00a0family’…<\/span><\/p>\n This empowerment to Blog in 2014 and share information came from my pre-<\/span>Twitter<\/span>\u00a0days during July and August 2009 when\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0University\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0Queensland and Nudgee College (Brisbane, Queensland, Australia) welcomed me for 1 week and 2 weeks respectively, and\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0Crusaders (Christchurch, New Zealand) rugby environment for 3 weeks, which taught me\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>power<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of\u00a0<\/span>sharing and discussing ideas…it was a breath\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0fresh air…it opened my eyes…<\/span> Twitter\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0‘power’\u00a0of\u00a0Blogs: Why start Blogging…? “Blogging<\/span>\u00a0is a very creative thing to do. It\u2019s totally different and helps make you feel better. Many people do it as a passion and many others do it to make money from their\u00a0<\/span>blogs<\/span>.<\/span>
Blogging<\/span>\u00a0is a term derived from\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0word \u201cBlog\u201c, which is an abbreviated word used for term \u201cWeblog\u201c, used to describe different type\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0Websites and Portals which share information on specific topics or wider categories.<\/span>
Each skill you need to run and manage a Blog is called\u00a0<\/span>blogging<\/span>. This includes skills like ‘Search Engine Optimisation’; ‘Social Media Marketing’; Writing, Editing and Publishing Posts; Designing and Maintaining\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0design\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0your Website, etc. You should be a good writer to write lot\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>unique and quality content for your website.”<\/span>

Why start\u00a0<\/span>Blogging<\/span>…?<\/span><\/strong>
The<\/span>\u00a0rate at which ‘Social Media’ has taken off so far in\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a021st Century is quite frightening\u2026<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>speed with which things can go ‘viral’ round\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0world is so rapid…<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0ease with which you can make connections…<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0ease with which you can communicate with people…<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0ease with which you can read\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0latest information available out there after a few taps\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0screen…<\/span>
Many people have many different reasons why they start\u00a0<\/span>blogging<\/span>…I believe\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0main reason for this is that it comes at\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0‘right’ moment in their life\/career when they feel they are ‘ready’ to share their ideas with\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0world…<\/span>
They have been through many experiences…they have gained lots\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0knowledge…they have sourced information from many different sources and people…they have continually challenged their thinking and ideas…they have created and built success based on sound, logical principles…they have applied what they have learned and seen\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0positive results…<\/span><\/p>\n
Some would say that is a risk…is it a risk worth taking\u2026? Is\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0grass always greener on\u00a0<\/span>the\u00a0<\/span>other side\u2026? If you do not take\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0jump and leap\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0faith you will never know\u2026What I can say is that it opens up a ‘Pandora’s Box’\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0opportunities and fresh challenges…<\/span>
It gives you\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0time to think:<\/span><\/p>\n\n
By making a comment about a Tweet; that can spark\u00a0<\/span>the<\/span>\u00a0start\u00a0<\/span>of<\/span>\u00a0a new adventure…a new connection…a new communication channel…a new avenue to share thoughts and ideas…<\/span><\/p>\n\n
