“It was a truly amazing ‘World Class’ experience!”<\/strong><\/p>\n What is the GAIN Mission\u2026?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n What was GAIN VIII’s Theme\u2026?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Who presented\u2026?<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n The calibre of presenters was truly ‘World Class’ from a wide breadth of areas in the field of ‘Athletic Development’:-<\/p>\n What was the format of GAIN\u2026?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Every second of every day was utilised to the full\u2026from 6:30am to 2:00am…with a variety of presentation methods from practical workouts\u2026to presentations\u2026to practical demonstrations\u2026to ‘Question and Answer’ sessions\u2026to informal chats\/discussions\u2026anywhere\u2026anytime.<\/p>\n Each day started at 6:30am with practical workouts of 3 stations lasting 20 minutes each, linked to the presentations that would be presented later in the day:-<\/p>\n Plus Vern’s pep talks post workout:-<\/p>\n Then there were 2 presentations given by GAIN Faculty members:-<\/p>\n Then there were Skype sessions by people who were unable to physically make it to GAIN:-<\/p>\n Which was followed by 2 more presentations after lunch:-<\/p>\n Then 2 practical demonstration sessions late afternoon:-<\/p>\n Each day ended with 2 presentations from GAIN members sharing their experiences…:-<\/p>\n What made GAIN so special\u2026?<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n The people!<\/p>\n The willingness of people to share their knowledge\u2026their experiences\u2026with everyone\u2026with their roommate\u2026with a fellow GAINer\u2026 no matter their role (coach, teacher, trainer, doctor)\u2026their experience (1 year, 5 years, 10 years, 20 years, 40 years)\u2026their level (Prep School, High School, College, University, Professional, Elite)\u2026the occasion…during presentations\u2026practicals\u2026’Q&A’\u2026informal chats\u2026anytime\u2026during breakfast\u2026lunch\u2026or dinner.<\/p>\n And the energy, enthusiasm and passion of my Mentor Vern Gambetta (Founder of GAIN)…who is a true inspiration and pioneer in the field of Athletic Development, Teaching and Coaching\u2026who after 45 years of continues to ask questions and push the boundaries of what is possible…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" With so many thoughts, feelings and experiences from the 5 days of intense professional development at GAIN VIII: Where do I start\u2026?
